JON ANDERSON, FAIA

Jon Anderson has been a licensed architect registered with the State of New Mexico since 1978, and has been a member of the American Institute of Architects since 1984. He has 47 years of diverse architectural experience, including significant responsibility in nationally and internationally recognized award-winning projects. As firm owner and sole proprietor since June, 1991, he has won numerous design awards for his commercial and residential work. Jon Anderson is a strong team-oriented manager. His soft spoken, comprehensive approach to project management has given him the highest respect of his peers and clients. He is able to gain a superior level of workmanship from contractors and unparalleled satisfaction from clients. Since opening his firm in 1991, Jon Anderson Architecture has received more than 60 regional and local AIA design awards. In honor of his significant contribution to architecture, Jon was elected to the AIA College of Fellows in 2012.

JAMES LUCERO, AIA

James Lucero is an Associate with Jon Anderson Architect. Because JAA is a small high-design firm, James is able to manage projects from design inception through construction administration; a philosophy that insures that the quality of the final product meets the high expectations of a Jon Anderson project. As a senior member of the firm, James works with the team to insure that solutions are thoughtful, innovative, and logical. He is responsible for document quality control and for insuring the balanced integration of program, sustainability, budget, and meaningful design.

DEAN COWDREY, AIA

Dean recently completed his Master’s Degree in Architecture and has now completed the NCARB certification process. Currently, he is pursuing his architectural registration and has begun testing. Dean brings a substantial amount of public work experience from his employment with previous firms. As a native of New Mexico, Dean understands the importance of creating architecture which responds to both time and place.

NATE BIA

Nate has been with Jon Anderson Architecture for 2 years. Nate is interested in sustainability and culturally appropriate design and strives to incorporate these concepts in innovative ways into all his work. With nearly 8 years of experience in Revit and BIM Modeling Nate is a valuable asset in producing drawings and building models.

ELLIOT HIELD

Elliot Hield is an intern architect in the final semester of his Master’s degree in Architecture at the University of New Mexico. Elliot joined JAA in 2017 while pursuing his Bachelors at UNM. His extensive knowledge of Revit/BIM and many other design tools allows him to ensure that technical workflow runs smoothly and that project vision can be effectively communicated through immersive visualizations and models enabling both clients and designers to “engage” with a space early and often throughout the design process.
